Dr. Ted Adler: Born in New Jersey, Dr. Ted moved to the San Fernando Valley at the age of 12. He attended UCLA, majoring in zoology, and completed his studies at UC Davis, graduating with honors in 1969. Dr. Ted has been in private practice ever since, primarily treating small animals, with a special interest in reptiles and exotics. His deep love and appreciation of the animal kingdom has brought him a very devoted clientele over the years. In 1988, recognizing the community’s need for a high quality boarding facility, Dr. Ted opened The Pet Resort, which continues to please pets and their owners to this day. Always striving for improvement, Dr. Ted is a strong advocate of continuing education and a frequent attendee of veterinary seminars. His career as a veterinarian has been both fulfilling and enriching. Dr. Ted is married and has four children. An avid sports fan, he enjoys many forms of recreation, both as spectator and participant. On his days off, Dr. Ted can usually be spotted at the golf course, or driving around town with his dog, Bill. Dr. Alan Epstein: Although born in the south (Richmond, Virginia), Alan was raised in New York City (Queens). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and graduated from the veterinary school at Cornell in 1970. Alan immediately commenced practicing in California. He enjoys general practice and has a special interest in veterinary dentistry. Alan and his wife, Cindy, married in 1969 and have two children. Their pets have included dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and a tortoise (who has free roam of the yard). Alan’s hobbies are photography and barefoot water skiing. Dr. Dan Reimer: Dan was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, in Tarzana. He has always enjoyed this area, so after he finished college at UC Davis in 1991, he returned. He worked at Adler Veterinary Group during the summers as a technician until he graduated from veterinary school. Dan now lives in Chatsworth with his wife, Charlene, and a whole entourage of pets. They have three dogs, three cats, two tortoises and multiple fish. He has worked here as a veterinarian since 1991 and really loves it. Dan enjoys seeing dogs and cats, as well as many exotic species including birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and even fish. His interests, outside of veterinary medicine, are quite varied. He enjoys baseball, softball, skiing, hiking with his wife and their dogs, camping, dirt biking in the mountains, sailing, and a nice day out by the pool. Dan and his wife are avid baseball fans and have a part share of season tickets to the Dodgers, although she is a Giants fan. Dr. Craig Adler: Dr. Craig J. Adler was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He went to primary school at Haskell Elementary, Porter Jr. High, and Monroe High School. He attended UCLA for 4 years and graduated in 1976 with a BA in biology (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa). Dr. Craig attended UC Davis for veterinary school and graduated (Summa Cum Laude) in 1980. He then attended the University of Georgia veterinary internship program for more training through July of 1981. He began working at Adler Veterinary Group with his brother, Dr. Ted Adler, and associates in September of 1981. Dr. Craig has a wonderful wife, Alene, and two daughters, Ashley and Madisen. He is proud of his family and his talented, vivacious girls! The family has two Abyssinian cats (Platinum and Tigress) that always keep things exciting around the house. Dr. Craig enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a particular interest in internal medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Craig loves to read books and study about success and positive mental attitude. He likes many kinds of sports, but mostly as a spectator. Most of his free time is spent with his fantastic family! His basic philosophy as a veterinarian is to provide a high level of communication while giving the best care possible for his patients. Dr. Steve Goldberg: Dr. Steve was born in New York, and spent
the first half of his adult life pursuing multiple degrees in biology
and marine biology, teaching at multiple universities and doing research.
In the early 1980s, he decided to follow his dream of becoming a veterinarian
after reading the stories of Dr. Doolittle. He attended veterinary school
in Mississippi, by way of Italy. Graduating in 1994, Dr. Steve returned
to New York and worked in private practice and at the renowned North Shore
Animal League. In 1999, he migrated to California to be with his much
better half, who he had met at veterinary school. Dr. Steve has been working
at Adler Veterinary Group since 2000. His non-biologically extended family
consists of a black and white dog, two black and white cats, and a green
and orange bird that hates his guts. On the rare occasion that Dr. Steve
isn’t working, he spends his time going to the movies, traveling
(especially to national parks), visiting museums and resting. He enjoys
relaxation.
